How to convert italy study visa to work permit ?
Hi guys Welcome back once again to article !
So, in this article, we're going to talk about how you can convert your student visa into a work permit ?
Well I've been researching quite a lot and I couldn't find any prompt information But today I'm going to provide you with some exact information on how you can convert your student visa into a work permit while residing in Italy? You may come across two scenarios in this case The first scenario is when you have completed your graduation and the second one is when you haven't completed your graduation and you have found a job while pursuing your degree or you are unsure about continuing your studies any further So,
the process for both scenarios is going to be slightly different from each other So, let's look at the first case in which you have yet to complete your graduation and don't have a degree In that case, how can you convert your student visa into a work permit?
So, you need to wait for the "Decreto Flussi" this is a process in which the Italian government opens a quota for the Non-European citizens who can acquire a work permit in Italy Even though many Indian and Pakistani workers come to Italy through "Decreto Flussi" But there is also some quota left for those students who don't have a degree and want to convert their study visa into a work permit So, you can apply for that quota So, if we talk about "Decreto Flussi" in current situations It started in March 2023 and will be open through December 31 So, you need to be updated on "Decreto Flussi" and should apply for the work permit during this timeline In the second case, it is going to be a direct conversion if you have completed pursuing your graduation and received your degree In that case, you won't have to face any challenges and you don't need to wait for "Decreto Flussi" You can directly convert your study visa Although, in both cases, one thing is common when "Decreto Flussi" would open or even when you get your degree then you'll need to apply for the "Nulla Osta" which is actually the work permit and it is also known as No Objection when translated into English How can you obtain Nulla Osta? In both cases, you'll require Nulla Osta Even though if you're
applying for Decreto Flussi in the timeline of pursuing your degree or if you're applying for a work permit after receiving your degree Having Nulla Osta is important in both cases So, the first for those who have completed their graduation or even for those who haven't finished their degree yet In both cases, you'll need to apply for the Nulla Osta How do you apply for Nulla Osta? You can visit your CAF office to acquire this The CAAF office can help and guide you in applying for the Nulla Osta and after that, you can visit and submit your documents to the Immigration office and receive your Nulla Osta The maximum time to receive the Nulla Osta is around 30 days Although, a few of my friends received it in a week or sooner You won't have to pay anything This Nulla Osta is No Objection or you may call it the work permit So you have one document required to apply for the work permit But now you have to apply for the Residence permit associated with the work permit So for that, I am going to lay out 5 steps for you The first step is to get a kit from the Posteitaliane which is a post-office in Italy you'll get a kit in here you'll need to take this kit to the CAAF office the modules in this kit changes when you're applying for the work permit the module will be different when you're applying for the study visa, the module will be different when you're applying for a Job, the module will differ So it is better to get help from the CAAF office and they'll help you fill out the right module after filling that out, you'll need to come back to the post office or Posteitaliane from there, you'll get an appointment to the police station Il posto di polizia is the Italian name for police station so, you'll get an appointment Now, in the fourth step, you'll need to visit the police station with all of your documents In which, you'll need your Nulla Osta, Photos, Passport copy, Old residence permit and everything else you can see on your screen you'll need to take these documents with you to the post office and submit them and give your fingerprints then you're going to collect your work residence card in place of your old study residence card which is also known as Lavoro Subordinato it would be mentioned on your residence card so you'll need to follow this process In this whole process, you'll need the Nulla Osta at the initial stage the only difference is that if you don't have a degree then you'll need to apply in the timeline of Decreto Flussi which opens every year and if you have your degree then you don't have to wait for Decreto Flussi after graduation, as soon as you get a job, you can directly apply for a work permit In both scenarios,
your employers would help you out throughout the process and this is a very smooth process Just as we apply for the student permit, similarly we have to apply for the work permit or residence permit the whole process is similar except for some minor changes such as Nulla Osta we have an enrollment certificate at the time of applying for the student permit and at the time of work permit, we will need the Nulla Osta and the work contract except this, the whole process is just the same Mostly, the duration for a work permit is 1 year but in some cases, you may acquire it for a term of 2 years if your work contract is for a longer-term So, we have discussed where and how you can apply and what documents are needed even after this, if you face any kind of doubt Then you can ask them in the comment section So, this was just a small video on the conversion of a study visa into a work permit So, let's meet again in the next video Till then, Bye-bye and take care guys
